Date Night

It was a rush to get home. Jack and I were planning a special evening, and we so looked forward to it. As I got home the anticipated joy of the evening made my heart sing. Soon 3 of our grandchildren would be joining us for the night. Their mom and dad would be going on a date and we are the babysitters! Lots of backpacks, and special kid overnight things crowded our living room. Questions and instructions and off Ben and Stacy went on their date. Jack and I were very hungry, we waited to eat, not knowing if Meghan, Michael and Elana had eaten, and by now it was 7:30pm. Everyone was hungry! Quick, warm up the tomato soup, cook up the hotdogs...the sweet potato for Elana. Yum yum. There is something special about sharing simple meals with the grandkids. Then off to the park, but alas it was too dark already. What to do. Get a creemie of course! So off to our favorite local creemie place. Yum again. Home to a story and brushing teeth. Meghan settled her baby sister, Michael climbed into bed. The Lords Prayer and prayers of thanksgiving. Everyone asleep in no time. Praise the Lord! Elana woke up at 2:30, drank her bottle then quickly back off to sleep until 8:30am! Oh glory to God! Her awakening woke her brother and sister. Breakfast, cleaning up and off to the park. Over 2 hours of running and fun and laughter. We met Stacy at Zachary's for lunch, then I came home to see Jack before he left for work. It has been wondeful. We enjoy Ben and Stacy's Date Night as much as they do.
Now off to bed.
